Vehicle Purchases and Financing:

How long have you been in business?
The Tapley Family has been in the automotive business in the Skagit Valley since 1987, at the same locations. The Sales and Service divisions have won many awards including the prestigious Ford Motor Company’s President Award. We are the only current Ford and Lincoln dealer north of Everett to have ever done so.

What does the Salesperson do for me?
At the Tapley Dealerships the Salesperson’s job is to assist you selecting the best possible vehicle for your needs. The salesperson will ask questions regarding your specific needs and desires either in a new or pre-owned vehicle. He (or she) will ask about your budget considerations and time line for purchase. After the purchase he will perform a complete presentation on the operation of the vehicle (if it is a new purchase). He will follow-up with you over a period of years to be sure you are completely satisfied with your purchase.

Why is the “Presentation” necessary after the sales is completed, I have owned many cars before this one?
The technology in today’s vehicles changes as rapidly as computer technology does. It is very important for your salesperson to make you familiar with all the controls and functionality of your new vehicle. This is both for your safety and driving pleasure. The Skagit staff welcomes your questions on the operation of your vehicle at any time after the sale.

Do you use factory rebates and special offers?
Yes. These tend to change monthly so if you see an offer that pleases you, don’t wait until the next month to make your purchase, the offer will probably have expired.

Can I Finance both new and pre-owned vehicles?
Yes, as long as you qualify in respect to the down payment and you have an appropriate credit rating for the vehicle you have selected. Our finance department will be happy to assist you with any financing questions.

Can I get my own financing?
Yes, you may, but the banking institution you have selected may not have the best rates for your purchase. Our Finance Managers are constantly watching for the best rates available from many different sources.

Do you offer Costco pricing?
Yes, we do, consult with your Salesperson on this special pricing program. You must be a current Costco member and make your salesperson aware that this is how you wish to purchase your vehicle.

Do you accept trade-ins?
Yes.

Will you respond to my email for a price inquiry?
Generally, the answer is yes. Problems arise when the purchaser does not provide enough information regarding his or her needs. As an example; a customer asks the price of a new 2012 Ford Escape. The Escape comes in many different styles and power train options. Is the request for a gas powered or hybrid model? Front wheel drive or all wheel drive? Do you want a basic vehicle or one with more options? The answer to these questions will greatly affect the price quoted. Please be aware we consider e-mail inquiries to be the same as if you stopped by our showroom and we will respond either by email or telephone as soon as possible.

Do you sell extended factory and aftermarket warranties?
Yes. We offer both Factory based and highly reputable non-factory extended warranties. With the cost of today’s vehicle components it is always a good idea to protect yourself against unexpected expenses.

Can you add accessories into the purchase price of the vehicle and finance that amount also?
Yes.

What are the terms of the new vehicle warranties?
Each vehicle brand has its own warranty. It’s best to consult with your salesperson regarding the specific brand you are thinking about purchasing.

Does my warranty cover broken windshields and body damage?
No. These issues are covered by your auto insurance policy.

Do I have to do anything to keep the warranty in force?
Yes. You should always have the required services preformed at the correct internals. You should also respond and bring the vehicle to the dealership if something is clearly amiss. Each brands owners manuals will address this issue, be sure to read your manual thoroughly.

Can I purchase a policy to cover my normal maintenance costs?
Yes. These plans have become very popular and are a good way to help control expenses. You can also finance these plans along with your purchase. Generally they only add a few dollars to the monthly payment and all your normal maintenance is paid for.

Can you help with insurance if need be?
Yes we can, your finance manager will assist you.

Can you special order vehicles?
Yes we can.

Do you lease vehicles?
Yes we do, your Salesperson can provide information and rates on this service.

Do you work with Car-Fax?
Yes we do.

Do you have rental cars?
We contract with Enterprise-Rent-A-Car, which is located just north of us.

Service Department:

Are you a “full service shop”?
Yes. All our service departments are “full service”. We can perform any work you may need from oil changes to major overhauls. We sell many brands of tires at surprising low prices. We have the latest balance and alignment equipment. We do not have an on-site body shop, but can refer you to several trusted local companies that can handle body repairs.

Why should I bring my vehicle to you if I only need an oil change?
Nothing can compare to factory service. The technician working on your car has been factory trained and certified. They work on your type of vehicle day in-day out, not once a week like independent garages might. We have the latest information about your vehicle, information available only to dealers, to insure your vehicle receives any available updates. We hand wash every car that comes in for service.

Do I need an appointment to have my car serviced?
We always attempt to service our customer’s vehicles correctly and as rapidly as possible. You are welcome to drop in without an appointment but during busy periods, you may have to wait longer than expected if a number of customers have made appointments for the day. There are advantages to making an appointment such as saving you time and confirmation that we have the parts on hand to service your vehicle.

Do you offer “waiting appointments”?
Yes. We have comfortable waiting areas with coffee and offer a free shuttle service that will take you wherever you might need to go within an eight mile radius. Just let your Service Advisor know that you need this service.

How can I pay for the service or repairs to my vehicle?
We accept cash, checks, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and the Ford Service Finance Card. For information about the Ford Service Finance Card, see your Service Advisor. This card is good for paying for your service or repairs on your Ford product-or it can be used with the other brands we sell also (Subaru and Mazda).

Are used vehicles sometimes still covered on the factory warranty?
Yes, if the mileage and age are within the stated limits. Most warranties are transferable although some extended contracts do require a small transfer fee.

Where do I bring my car for service?
Ford, Lincoln and Subaru’s are all serviced at the Ford Store. Merely drive into the double lane driveway under the word “Service” and straight into the covered service area. If the garage door is closed due to weather conditions, please honk your horn and the door will be raised for you. Mazda’s are serviced at the Mazda store. Drive up into the outdoor covered area marked for service.

Do you have rental cars?
We contract with Enterprise-Rent-A-Car, which is located just north of us.

Do you repair and service other brands?
Yes we do, ask a Service Advisor for details.

Parts Department;

Do you offer discounts for parts purchased over the counter if I purchased my vehicle from you?
Yes, ask a parts person for information.

Do you offer factory or aftermarket parts and accessories?
As a general rule we offer only factory parts and accessories. Factory parts have the correct fit and function for your car. They are also backed by a factory warranty that normally includes the labor also, if we install the part in our shop.

Can I order parts over the internet?
Yes, see our website for the order form. Be sure to include your year, make, model and complete (17 digit) serial number.

Will you ship parts to my home?
Yes, ask a Parts Person for details.
